Colleen Feehan

Colleen assists Executors with obtaining Grants of Probate and Administration, and provides advice in navigating the administration of estates. Colleen's litigation practice focuses on assisting clients who are uncertain about the conduct of executors, feel the need to challenge a Will or Trust and those vulnerable clients who need to seek support from an estate. 

Colleen understands that in many cases, clients will be going through a difficult time navigating the death or vulnerability of a loved one and the competing interests of family and loved ones. She strives to provide practical advice in an understanding atmosphere.

Colleen enjoys assisting clients with estate planning, including strategic planning of assets to optimize tax planning and avoid unnecessary administration down the road.  She is experienced at advising and establishing trusts in order to manage vulnerable family members, set up plans to manage divergent interests between second spouses and children, protect young people and take advantage of tax planning options. Colleen provides advice to clients on choosing appropriate executors, trustees, attorneys and agents to protect themselves and their children during their lifetime and throughout their legacy.

Colleen was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2010 and then the Law Society of Alberta in 2011. She obtained a bachelor's degree in English and History from the University of Alberta in 2006 and a Juris Doctorate from Queen's University in 2009. Colleen practiced on Bay Street for 7 years before returning to her hometown of Edmonton.  You can often find Colleen speaking on the topic of Wills & Estates in connection with organizations including the Edmonton Community Foundation, Norquest College and Central Lions Seniors' Association.
