Colleen's practice focuses on Wills and Estates, including planning, administration, and litigation. She prepares Wills, Powers of Attorney and Personal Health Care Directives for clients. Colleen also prepares and litigates Guardianship and Trusteeship appointments and applications.
Colleen assists Executors with obtaining Grants of Probate and Administration, and provides advice in navigating the administration of estates. Colleen's litigation practice focuses on assisting clients who are uncertain about the conduct of executors, feel the need to challenge a Will or Trust and those vulnerable clients who need to seek support from an estate.
Colleen understands that in many cases, clients will be going through a difficult time navigating the death or vulnerability of a loved one and the competing interests of family and loved ones. She strives to provide practical advice in an understanding atmosphere.
Colleen was called to the Law Society of Ontario in 2010 and then the Law Society of Alberta in 2011. She obtained a bachelor's degree in English and History from the University of Alberta in 2006 and a Juris Doctorate from Queen's University in 2009. Colleen practiced on Bay Street for 7 years before returning to her hometown of Edmonton.
